Draught Beer should be treated as a food product whether it is or isn’t pasteurized. It is important to store and handle it properly.
Follow these steps to ensure the highest quality, highest profits and customer satisfaction.
- Draught beer should be stored in a refrigerated walk-in cooler or a refrigerated cabinet.
- Stock rotation ensures fresh product. A good rule is, first keg in, first keg out.
- Draught beer products have a recommended shelf life. If you have questions regarding the shelf life of any of your draught products, please consult with your supplier or respective Brewer representative.
- Kegs should be stored separately from food products. If your cooler is used to refrigerate draught and food products, do not store food near or on kegs.
- Keg storage and dispensing areas should be kept clean to minimize any possibility of contaminating your draught products.
